Xiaomi Mi Band 6
Where to get it?
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is made up of a small tracker module that is embedded in a thin silicone strap. The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is recommended if you’re looking for a low-cost fitness tracker with a robust set of capabilities, a large display on which to view those functions, and a two-week battery life.
Good battery life
With “usual” usage, the Mi Band 6 has the same 14-day battery life as its predecessor. If you only use the most basic functions, that is certainly achievable. It also takes around two hours to go back to full strength. Many of the Mi Band 6’s functions, on the other hand, drain the battery quickly.
Bigger, colorful display
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 has a substantially larger 1.56-inch AMOLED display than its predecessor, which is 50 percent larger. There is no ambient light sensor, unfortunately. Although the display becomes quite bright when seen outside in direct sunshine, you may find yourself manually changing the display brightness when switching between darker and lighter surroundings. There are also a restricted number of watch faces to pick from, and no third-party watch faces are available.
Lots of sports tracking modes
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is capable of tracking 30 activities, up from 11 on the Mi Band 5. This time around, niche profiles like Zumba, kickboxing, and badminton have been added to the tracker. Running, walking, treadmill, cycling, rowing machine, and elliptical are among the six activities that it can automatically recognize. All other activities will require you to explicitly choose it on the device and start it. There is no solo GPS, however, there is a connected GPS option if you don’t mind carrying your phone when exercising.
Useful smart features
The Xiaomi Mi Band 6 is a fitness tracker with basic smartwatch capability and a few unique features not seen on other fitness trackers. It can mirror any app’s notifications, but the notifications aren’t actionable and aren’t easy to read on a display this small, so you’ll have to pick up your phone to see the whole thing. You’ll want to invest in a full-fledged smartwatch if you want a better notification experience.
Accurate health readings
Throughout the day, the Mi Band 6 will correctly track your steps, calories burnt, distance traveled, resting and active heart rates, and sleep. The worldwide Mi Band 6 also incorporates a SpO2 sensor, allowing you to check your blood oxygen levels at any time during the day. The heart rate sensor, on the other hand, suffers from high-intensity activities.
No NFC, voice assistant outside China
Because the Xiaomi Mi Band 6 global version lacks NFC and a voice assistant, users will be unable to make contactless payments or use Xiaomi’s Xiao AI helper.
Wear app needs improvement
You’ll use the Xiaomi Wear app to access all of your exercise and health statistics. The Mi Band 6 comes with a few basic apps, such as an alarm clock, stopwatch, timer, event log, “find my device” app, and camera control. You may also use the watch to control the music on your smartphone. Third-party apps, on the other hand, are not available.
