Review

The Realme Watch offers many smart features and fitness-tracking capabilities, including heart rate and blood-oxygen monitoring, and useful everyday features such as smart notifications, sleep tracking and a remote camera shutter.

Nice display

The Realme watch has a 1.4-inch color display of 320×320-pixel resolution with a peak brightness of 380 nits, but it lacks detail, and even at maximum brightness, it’s difficult to see the content under sunlight if the screen is covered with fingerprint smudges. The touchscreen is also slow to respond when swiping and scrolling.

Simple interface

The Realme watch has a simple and easy-to-use interface. From the homescreen, when you swipe down, you access messages, when you swipe to the side, you get features like weather, sleep, heart rate and activity, and when you swipe up, you get other tools and settings.

However, the watch’s display is slow to respond and you can encounter some issues when syncing the watch with the Realme Link app. Both the display and the app experience needs some polishing to be at an optimal rate.

Health and fitness tracking

The Realme Watch is a smartwatch packed with a variety of health and fitness tracking features, including a step counter, sleep monitor, heart rate monitor, blood-oxygen level monitor and 14 workout modes.

Heart rate monitoring and blood-oxygen tracking are two of the more advanced health features that this watch offers. There’s also a Meditation mode, which helps you relax by inhaling and exhaling. The Realme Watch also comes with a sedentary reminder and drink reminder.

Workout options include outdoor run, walk, indoor run, outdoor cycle, aerobic capacity, strength training, football, basketball, table tennis, badminton, indoor cycle, elliptical, yoga, and cricket. Despite these options, the feedback is limited to your heart rate, calories and duration spent exercising.

Comfortable to wear

The Realme Watch has an adjustable and detachable 20mm x 168-208mm silicone wrist strap. The watch weighs just 31 grams, and the silicon straps are also quite comfortable and durable.

Water resistant

The watch can withstand sweat and rain because of its water and dust resistance rating of IP68. However, it doesn’t track swimming.

Battery life is good

The Realme Watch offers an excellent battery life. It has a 160mAh unit that can sustain the watch for seven to nine days of regular use, or 20 days on power-saving mode. Overall, you wouldn’t have to take it off to charge frequently.

To charge up the battery, there’s a small, circular charger which fills the cell from flat to 100% in about 2.5 hours.

Only compatible with android

The Realme Watch relies on the Realme Link companion app to be set up and operated, however, it’s currently only available for Android users. Its successor, the Realme Watch 2 has support for iOS.

The Realme watch uses its own operating system, and the performance is not quite perfect. The menus and features launch without issue, but there is some noticeable lag when swiping through screens. Also, the Smart Notifications feature available on the watch does not work well and has problems with syncing.

Connectivity issues

Connectivity issues are another drawback of the Realme smartwatch. is marred with. To get it working at a manageable level, after reconnecting the Realme Watch with the paired smartphone, you would have to open the Realme Link app, tap on the Realme Watch option, and swipe down to sync a few times before the smartwatch is strongly connects with the phone and receives notifications. Overall, it hampers the Realme smartwatch experience as it often takes a couple of minutes to connect.
