Where to get it?

Review

The watch is the successor to the GTS, a square wristwatch that works with Android and iPhones and offers functionality seen on more expensive watches for a lower price. The GTS 2 is unquestionably a better smartwatch than its predecessor. It’s more of a fitness tracker than a sports watch, but it’s also one of Amazfit’s most feature-packed smartwatches. The issue is that the price has risen significantly.

High-quality display

The GTS 2 has a more streamlined appearance, with the same bright, high-resolution AMOLED display housed in a more elegant aluminum and plastic watch casing. The Amazfit GTS 2 features a 1.65″ Always-On AMOLED display with a 348×442-pixel resolution and a diamond-like carbon covering (oDLC) that protects it from scratches and wear. Because the panel is so bright, you’ll be able to see the on-screen content even in direct sunshine.

Waterproof

The GTS 2 is still waterproof up to 50 meters, so it can be used to track swimming and other water activities like its predecessor.

Built-in speaker

The Amazfit GTS 2 wristwatch has a speaker and microphone, allowing you to make phone calls directly from the watch when it’s connected to your phone through Bluetooth, as well as offline voice commands that enable you to manage the watch hands-free, with decent clarity from the speaker. Amazon Alexa and Huami’s own offline voice commands are the two smart assistants available. The former, on the other hand, does not operate, but the latter is a helpful approach to give the GTS 2 hands-free control of important features.

Built-in music player

At this price, a few timepieces come with a built-in music player. The GTS 2 includes a built-in music player that may play your own music and must be transferred using the Zepp companion phone app. You also get 3GB of internal storage and music control, but strangely, no camera control.

Fitness features available

The Amazfit GTS 2 features automatic sleep monitoring as well as a new BioTracker optical sensor that promises continuous heart rate tracking, heart rate during activity, and blood oxygen measures when it comes to tracking health and fitness. There’s a built-in GPS for tracking outdoor activities, but it’s best suited to everyday tracking than workouts due to its lack of precision.

Average battery life

The GTS 2’s battery life has decreased drastically from the first GTS, lasting barely four or five days instead of the claimed seven days under average use. The most visible drain on battery life continues to be features like the always-on display mode, 24/7 heart rate monitoring, and turning on the sleep assistant.

Compatible with Android and iOS

Mobile phones are compatible with the Amazfit GPS 2. You’ll get notifications, music controls, Bluetooth calls, weather forecasts, alarms, event reminders, and more when you’re connected.

Customizable watch faces

The watch faces are adjustable, and a few exciting alternatives highlight the excellent display. There’s a wonderful mix of digital and analogue options, so you can either fill that face with info or keep it simple.

Lightweight and comfortable to wear

The Amazfit GTS 2 is exceptionally light and pleasant to wear during a workout and at sleep, weighing only 24.7 grams. Its primary module is built of aluminium alloy, and the screen is protected by 3D glass that merges in with the sides to provide a seamless scrolling experience. The GTS 2’s 20mm detachable silicone straps are likewise silky smooth.
